Job links, portal accounts, and expired access

How a job link differs from a portal account, when each expires, and how to request a new invite.

Job link

A job link looks like a long address under /portal/ and opens one job without a password. The link itself is the key. Job links expire after a set time, or when the contractor replaces them. If the page says the link has expired, do not try a contractor login — request a new invite or ask the contractor for a fresh job link.

Portal account

A portal account is an email and password created from an invitation. After sign-in, the report list at /portal shows every report for that property. Invitations expire if they are not accepted in time. An expired invitation is not a contractor-dashboard problem.

What expires, and what to do

Job links and unused invitations both expire. A portal account that was already created does not vanish when a job link expires — sign in at the client portal login. Password reset is not self-serve. The recovery path is a new invitation from the contractor, which can be requested from the client recovery page.

Request a new invite

Use the client recovery form with the same email the contractor used. If a matching invitation exists, a new link is sent. If nothing arrives, ask the restoration contractor to resend from their side. Stay on /portal/recovery — never a contractor sign-in screen.
