The client portal gives your homeowner a read-only view of the signed-off report and any invoices you've attached. Tokens are revocable and rotatable from the admin side — the client never logs in.
When to use the portal
Use the portal once an inspection is COMPLETED and the report is signed off. Before sign-off the document is still a draft; don't share drafts via the portal.
Provision the client portal account
From the inspection detail page, click Share with client in the action bar. If the homeowner doesn't already have a ClientPortalAccount, RestoreAssist creates one tied to the inspection.
Send the link
The portal link looks like https://restoreassist.app/portal/[token]. You can:
- Copy and paste it into your own email or SMS
- Click Send via email to use RestoreAssist's templated email
- Generate a QR code to hand the client at handover
The token is opaque and unguessable. There is no public listing of portal accounts.
What the client sees
When the client opens the link, they see:
- The signed-off report (read-only PDF + inline web view)
- Any attached invoices and their payment status
- Photos with captions (chain-of-custody hashes are hidden from the client UI)
- A contact button that emails you back
Rotate or revoke access
From Settings → Client portal accounts an admin can:
- Rotate token — invalidates the old link and issues a fresh one
- Revoke — disables the account; the link returns a 410 Gone
Rotate after any incident (forwarded email, lost phone, ownership change). Rotation does not change the report itself, only the URL.
